Richard for Cerebellum
Richard for Cerebellum

Richard for Cerebellum creates richly textured "Classical/Industrial" music through the use of sampling, electronic instruments, "film score" atmospherics, and acoustic instruments as well as less conventional means such as random composition, "on location" recordings (i.e. in different environments using found sounds and instruments), and custom built instruments. RFC uses these elements, combined with traditional classical music elements and industrial music to create some very effective contrasts.

Tim Id Productions

Tim Id Productions is dedicated to the promotion of Do it Yourself (DiY) music, also known as cassette culture, home taping and home recording. It is also the home of Bat Lenny, Stegor and other endeavors. We offer a link to "...Now That's Interesting...", a Twin Cities radio show which features music by home tapers, as well as links to other locations in that vein.

Stegor

I've been creating odd music and exploring sonic possibilities in my spare time since 1992 and with Bat Lenny since 1982 (not including the silliness we recorded in the '70's). I play whatever I can get my hands on, mostly guitar, but I am not a guitarist. I write and play music but I am not a musician.

The Rudy Schwartz Project

Somewhere east of Austin Texas, in a double-wide trailer home near the remnants of Bergstrom Air Force base, a small, wrinkled curmudgeonly old man by the name of Rudy Schwartz crouches over a desk, squints into the monitor of an outdated personal computer, and pokes at a moldy sandwich with a dirt-encrusted index finger.

Gajoob Web Zine (including the DiY report!)

Welcome to Gajoob Magazine's website for do-it-yourself (DiY) recording artists. This is your worldwide connection point for DiY-ers -- indie musicians, home tapers, small project studios, garage bands, DiY labels, etc. -- with continually updated information about activities in which DiY artists can be involved. Radio, publications, labels and distributors, workshops and festivals, live performance, and tons of networking contacts.

Doug Michael and the Outer Darkness

The group began as a trio with Tom Wenzel doing the percussive duties, Kirk Famularo on bass and Me on guitar, miscellanous effects and digital signal processors. We eventually added Daryl Fjeldheim on saxophone who rounded out the group sound. The goal was to create music that had some structure to it, but yet was left open for improvisation at key sections in the compositions. The sound was an all instrumental funk/jazz/rock exploration in music.

Local Sound Department

Every Friday night at 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Mark tries to keep you updated on all the stuff that is happening in the Twin Cities local music scene. Every genre is included as long as it is locally produced. Every level of achievement is recognised.....from the very first demos to the major label CD releases. Please help us to be as inclusive as possible by sending locally produced music on any format to...

Cassette Mythos

Cassette Mythos is about Homemade Audio Cassettes: listening to them, making them, packaging and recording them, getting them heard and reviewed and played on the radio; things one would need to know getting started; ways to enhance the practice and development of this exciting modern folk art. The sources include many diverse and dynamic personalities, modern pioneers in home audio arts.

Mouth Bandit Source

Founded in 1984, the Mouth Bandits spent ten years in the studio. This is all they have to show for it. Oh well.
Five albums, a radio play, and numerous queer bits and pieces.

audiofileTAPES

Firstly however, you ought to know that audiofile Tapes has been central to indie-ground music networking since 1984. Its catalogue now carries over 200 original cassette releases from around the world, as well as a number of LP and CD releases from artists who have been friends of aT over the years. This is where people have come for over ten grueling years in search of deeply alternative forms of electronic music, space rock, avant- and free jazz, and plenty more.
